Just a quick heads up that it looks as though 6024 is one of the service engines on the SVR this coming Sunday, alongside 5164 and 7812. Perhaps someone can confirm which turn 6024 is working please? I suspect it will be the 12-00 Kidderminster departure, the "Venturer" set,(AS2) but that is only an educated guess.

    Half-decent weather forecast as well!

Subject to the usual caveats, etc.

It will be the 12:00 diner ex Kidderminster that will be King-hauled this weekend - and it has always been planned to be the only train that will be King-hauled during its current stay on the line.

Tip for photographers - get to your locations early as there may be some crowding at more well known phot spots.

It's the Limited not the venturer so it'll be the king with the GWR Dining set. The venturer pair are usually part of the set of bridgnorth so that should be hauled by 5164.

Is that the venturer then? If so are they attached to a service train then? The reason I ask is that the 1200 is the severn valley limited.

Sorry I got that wrong in my initial post.

Timetable shows the 12-00 as the "Limited" and the 1-20 ex-Kidderminster as the "Venturer" on the 15th.
Anyway, we know the "King" is on the 12-00 out of Kidderminster.

I bet someone is up early tomorrow to check for fallen trees down the Valley after the wind we have had here....

6024 looked resplendent in the sunshine at Kidderminster this morning, with 6024 Society members visiting the footplate before their dining car trip along the Valley, which would be looking at its Autumn best today.
We even got a mini-Christmas singalong as the station staff tried out the pa system with the Christmas CD, to get them in the mood as they started putting up the Christmas decorations!

I've only got two photos posted so far of my trip behind 6024. Will try and get more done tonight... I was on board so it was inappropriate to be carrying my huge bag of cameras and lenses. I had to make do with my little Panasonic.
