Now THAT is indeed a spectacular 'lot'. What a publicity coup too, as 3855 says. It'll be interesting to see what that one goes for.

Or simply ask the nice people at the A1 trust who will tell you the answer anyway.

Beg to differ RalphW - previous posts and the A1 Trusts offering to Children in Need are on this thread!

Winning bid was £15,000. What a prize though.

You have to hand it to them - they may be a million or two short of cash, but their press and publicity machine is magnificent

Michael I don't know where you got your figures from but it is way over the top, my contact at the A1 trust confirms that it has been able to pay back quite a lot recently, and the sum now stands at around £500,000.

The latest communication cord's have information on the debt situation, which they seem well on the way to eliminating in plenty of time for her first overhaul.

yes, there's good news there about the short term loans, but it does not state the value of the bearer bonds issued to fund the boiler which have to be repaid between 2012 and 2016

The figure to build the boiler was less than half a million pounds, i was told at a open day the actual amount the boiler cost, it was done by meinegan as a demonstration of what they can acheive, and as such was done at a vastly reduced rate.

Bearing in mind the rapidly decreasing amounts owed, the 4 years to repay the bonds should be well within reach of the trust.

Hope fully after that they can put money away for the first overhaul, which bearing in mind the loco is recently out of the box, should not be fantastically expensive or time consuming.

The positive publicity she gathers does all of the heritage steam community the power of good.

    I presume one way.

So will 60163 have an extended stay there?

UKSteam.info shows 60163 booked on a Kings Cross-York trip on Thu 3rd June and two circlular trips from London on Sun 20th June (Father's Day), so looks like any stay on the Swanage will not be more than a couple of weeks.

I'll buy it just to see (or rather hear) Prinny again, coughing his way out of a cloud of exhaust.
