Excellent news. I miss 47383. A Jinty is a fun machine to drive and fire.

Anyone for putting Roger Hibbert up for an MBE, This is his third Barry wreck I believe....
Surely an achievement for the world of preservation ?
Gentlemen. Raise a glass for Mr Hibbert and everyone else involved !

    Tempus Fugit

Can not believe it has been at Loughborough for 20 years...

I remember seeing its' number appear on the shed board (whilst still at Quorn) and thought someone had brought Railriders!

Well done. A very useful engine for off peak services and a great pilot for galas. Looking forward to seeing it in Jan.

Roger Hibbert also owns a J94 stored in the sidings at Quorn. I believe this is his next project when the Jinty is completed.

    Yes, Roger is now on engines 3, 4 & 5, engines 1, 2 & 3 having been sold on.

1 & 2 (not sure in which order) were "Littleton No.5" now at Avon Valley and "No.39" which he converted from an 0-6-0ST to 0-6-0T, now at Darlington?
    3 was 5224
    4 is 48305
    5 is 47406
6 is Austerity "Robert" ex-Crewe, currently languishing in the Down siding at Quorn. He doesn't expect that one to take 20 years! But 47406 was a real mess when he bought it, nothing more than a 'boiler on wheels'.

More power to his elbow, I say.

Thought I'd might add, whilst the boiler was out of its frames, the opportunity was taken to turn 47406, and it now faces south towards Leicester as it had previously faced north.

63601, we are going to have to stop you calling these Austerities 'J94s', they're not.

    Tsk!
