Lakeside and Haverthwaite Diesel Running Days

    The lake district is busy all year round in parts, i shall say having worked very recently in the tourism industry there has been no slow down this year people stayiong at home making it very busy

    Thats actually quite true there does seem to be increased demand. I visit that part of the world twice a year for long weekends, and the hotel prices I have been quoted recently have made me think very carefullly about the numbers of days I go for.

    Further to my last and with reference to the wet weather, we have abandoned plans to run our diesel locomotives this November. To provide a service to our other passengers, our DMU is planned to run this Saturday and Sunday 28th and 29th November.

    Once again thanks to all who have supported us so far and who may do so in future.

    how come the dmu can be used despite the floods but locos cant? :confused:

    Diesel locos use electric motors & dmu's have mechanical transmission.
    As you know water & electricity don't mix!
