Looks a great day. I hope the weather behaves - a pretty big hope at the moment.

To reiterate my earlier post, what about this coming Saturday? I would assume either Manston or Eddystone will be working the service trains. Can anyone help, please?

    Thanks

Not that it probably helps, but 34070 was having a steam test yesterday (Thursday). It was involved in shunting at Swanage and then went to Corfe and back in the afternoon to deposit a Class 33. Eddystone was cold, and shunted to the station loop.

Just a quick one, but here's to wish that everybody who is going to Bulleid day at Swanage has an exellent day.

Gets some good shots of manston at Corfe castle, and the double header.

I will be hoping that the weather down there is perfect for you, not problems with the sun and no rain! weather down there is quite harsh!

Honestly, i hope wives are more co-operative than mothers when it comes to letting you go to steam events. My mother stopped me going to see 30777, never seen it. Now missing 34070 facing south and double heading with 34067- for free.

however, have a good day all!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm with you there. Funnily enough, that is the shot of the double header i was planning to take, had i been allowed to go. Excellent shot.

Nice to see headecodes other than the swanage one and one lamp and one disc that 34067 always carries.

I only wish I was there, but unfortunately 'Gresley Was Right' carriages can't paint or restore themselves. I hope there is another Bulleid event of this magnitude in the not too distant future (the WSR with up to 11 Bulleids doing the honours could be feasible over the next four years are 35006, possibly 35027, 34007, 34027, 34028, 34046, 34053, 34059, 34067 (if she gets a rapid overhaul), 34070, 34092? That would be a fantastic line-up, but imagine the coal bill and transfer costs!).

With the possibility of bring 11 Bullieds together this type of event must be staged on a Southern preserved railway and not on a Great Western preserved railway in my opinion. Far better to use Swanage, Mid Hants or Bluebell.

I thought Boiler tickets lasted 14 months then they have to be renewed.

They have to undergo an inspection as part of the insurance every 14months, but generally a ticket means you can run for 10 years so long as you pass each inspection if I've understood it right.
