You survived! Not only the third rail, (it was down there under the loco and train somewhere), but all the trains rushing at the platorm over the crossover.

Kill the fatted calf. Let's celebrate.

PS. It had obviously become safe on our return as there were no armed guards stopping people leaving the train via the carriage doors at that end of the train.

I hope Platform 20 doesn't have the same problem when it opens. Presumably not.

With pay levels as they are, railway staff is made up of absolute thicko's who have brains removed and programmed to be as obnoxious as possible, Same as 'security' staff who wander to end of platform and ask group of camera toting males what they are doing. Thick, not arf......they only get what they pay for.

Is there any wonder they don't like enthusiasts when they see an attitude like that?

I feared the worst when I was approached by 2 security staff at St Pancras, who asked me if I had permission to photograph. When I told them I wasn't using a flash (I have an image stabilised lens, and prefer not to) they said that was OK, and wandered off.

As you say, all tosh, noone has ever ploughed into the buffer stops after a photo was taken. I go to a lot of motorsport events, and have yet to see disaster as a driver gets blinded at 150mph.

Having said that, if the jobsworth has been told to stop it, that's what he'll try and do.
