We have posted our main operating days for the 2010 season on our website www.rutlandrailwaymuseum.org.uk

The site is open to visitors every thursday and sunday with working days on a tuesday also.

Although the dates listed are our main operating dates we intend to have more open days and activities on the railway so check on the news pages from time to time for updates!

More detailed information on what will be operating shall be posted nearer the time. But for more information about our railway contact the curator through our web site or myself on this forum.

    Thankyou!

Ooh another industrial gala back on the calendar! 2010 is looking to be yet another good year for industrials - the industrial scene is really looking good these days.

Foxfield and Tanfield galas are well established now with Chasewater and Ribble hot on their heels and plenty of others like Rutland and Bows after the action too. It's great!

Yes it is good to have plenty of industrial dates in the diary. I was just writing how much I was looking forward to the gala and then checked the date. Great it is in October but unfortunately it is the first clash of the year for me - it is the same weekend as the big heavy freight Plandampf in Germany. Now looks like the 12th September for me. I will get my requests in early - plenty of smokebox first freights, not too many double headers and a beer tent please!

Sounds great. You will love the Tanfield. The perfect rural colliery branchline (even if ex BR!)....just like Foxfield (before anyone suggests bias!)

Banking fine with me. Already looking forward to a pint of Rutland's finest ale and that isn't Ruddles!

Well if we're taking requests... some nice loud freight runs would be appreciated! ;-) Maybe some brakes pinned down, etc? :D

Glad to have you aboard Martin - hopefully we'll get to see you about a bit next year.
Think it could be a good one as the museum starts to move forward and we find our niche.

I am having Peckett 2000 out again (see the NRM thread!) On both days with wagon and passenger trips subject to the owners approval.
Also Barclay locomotive 1931 or a member of our Diesel fleet operating tipping dock demonstrations.
I will give you all a more detailed update after my feet stop hurting after yesterdays photo charter!!
