I appreciate that the roster isn't finalised until Friday, but does anyone have a feeling for whether 43106 is going to be/likely to be on Santa duty this coming weekend (12th/13th Dec) please?

    Many thanks

I can say that 43106 was lit yesterday so it could be on duty this weekend. No guarantees !

Lewis there are no timetables for a non traveller benefit

Trains leave Kidderminster every half hour from 09:45 and depart Arley from 10:45 . There is an extra 15 minutes around 1:15 thus the afternoon trains are 14:00 and then half hourly. Trains cross at Bewdley with the Arley bound workings being non stop if possible

Just back from a sunny but cold SVR, with everything running to time, and well-filled trains.

46443, 42968,7812,6695 and 5164 in use, with the small Prairie standing spare in steam at Bewdley. No sign of 43106 though.

Best to avoid Kidderminster at this time, they are very busy, and really geared up to getting the passengers on and off the trains efficiently. Bewdley was a good place to just stand and watch the action as trains passed there. Erlestoke Manor Fund shop and the station buffet for the intervening wait between trains, and to get away from the rather loud Christmas "background" music!

Oh, and not a single piece of tinsel adorning any locomotive....!!!

I guess your prep work for next weekend wont be too pleasant, Friday into Saturday the forecast has minus 4degrees celcius, and barely above freezing all day Saturday. Do the locos get lit up early, say on Friday morning to try and avoid freezing problems? Pipes, injectors etc?

Knowing the weather forecast, by Thursday it will say a heatwave for Saturday.

Here in Droitwich Spa, the promise of a cold dry run up to Christmas seems to have quickly disappeared as it is raining heavily and more is forecast for tomorrow

I shall be there at the weekend so hopefully they will be right and it will be freezing with plenty of sunshine and blue sky.

But Michael, I thought we'd read all about how much you enjoyed the tinsel!
    Just kidding.
I'll keep a look out for you when I'm there.

    Regards,

    Paul

No michael if you tell us when you are coming we'll put a christmas pudding on the dome of the micky mouse :D
Being serious for a moment, now that you have calmed down I do hope that you have reconsidered that donation for the wheel drop fund ;)
Looks like it is going to be cold and there is mention of snow showers but I dont think we will see the magical conditions of 1981!
