    Hi
It's been reported the above is at the Foxfield but isn't listed in your stocklist. Is this a recent purchase or possibly one of your ex CEGB ones with this number applied.
    Cheers

Have passed this one on to the experts, hopefully will get you an answer.

However one question, where has it been reported?

Not one of ours apparently Steve, here's the response from our wagon expert:

    Hi Nigel,
We don't have a mineral wagon with that number unless one's had it painted or chalked on in the last few months.
It can't be one of the CEGB Padiham ones as apart from the MOWT rivetted example number 5 / B29551 they've been cut up last year.
So a bit of a mystery to me.
    Best wishes,
    Mark

Can you ask him where on the railway the mystery wagon was stored?

    Cheers

Yes, apparently it was seen at Dilhorne Colliery. This is what he sent........

""hi SteveJust looking at my notes and photos again - this wagon was right atthe far end (buffer stops) of the row of wagons with mk1 25225 at thehead. Typically its one of the few I didn't actually get a shot of! Ihave one of 565154 alongside and then I must have got carried awaywith the NCB double hopper and blue pitch roof one which wereopposite!""

From his sightings I have tied up all the others on your stock list except 575554 which I believe is now at the Ribble. There were a few unidentified parts as well which I assume are remains of the ex CEGB ones you've mentioned. 558698 appears to be an extra one. This has also apparently been sighted in the past as well, although I didn't see it on my visit in August 2005. Is it possible it could be one on hire & not part of the Foxfield inventory?
    Cheers
    Steve

Some of the first minerals we obtained from Chatterley Whitfield (ex-Padiham Power Station) which were deemed too far gone to be saved. Frames rotted right through and bodywork non-existant. We have salvaged a few spares but there was not much of value on them. They really were past it and dangerous to move! I think there are 2 of these left.

Wow it took me ages to find this old thread.
    Foxfield Mineral Open 558698
This mineral wagon has been sighted again, so does confirm it is real. It has the builders plate fixed to the frame.

I think I can see what may have happened, if you look at the Foxfield Railway stock list on their website. Under the 'BR 16t mineral wagons' section there is a table of examples on the line.
556132 is listed twice. The first entry for this appears to be correct with the appropiate diagram/lot/builder etc. The second entry shows an incorrect diagram/lot/builder. However these would be the correct details for 558698.
It looks like someone has mistakenly typed in 556132 for a second time instead of 558698.

Have received a reply from the compiler of the stocklist who concurs with your expanation. He also says that the list needs updating but will have to wait till he has re-installed the relevant software. For now the first three mineral wagons on the list need deleting as they have been scraped for spares.

I'm sure it was you who told me before about the 3 CEGB ones being scrapped.
