Visiting locos posted as 30777 "Sir Lamiel" and 70013 "Oliver Cromwell" over on ELR forum.

    Which is excellent news.

Well done to Ian Riley for negotiating the visit.

    Best Regards

May actually be worth a visit back if they can pull it off...

I am pleased, i never insinuated that in my post quite the opposite infact! My point about them pulling it off was regard to the fact the last event we visited their "BR Black Weekend" was hardly a success! Myself and my other film team agreed that there wasn't much point visiting for the rest of year as there wasn't really much of a catch... I'm rather pleased to see that their raising their game once again with visiting engines...

yes sadly we struggled a little over the last year or so, but with Ian now our CME things will change significantly and we always welcome visitors from the odd side of the Pennines, haha

    Wow...

    this is a great announcement.

Sounds like a lot of oppourtunities for some 1968 re-runs..70013, 44871, 45407..lets hope some blue and grey's slip into the stock :)

30777 first time ive seen it in lancashire for a few years !

Will 61994 still be at Bury ?

I thought it was just a rumour about 70013 and 30777 visiting the ELR in February. Now worth a visit.

Not a rumour. I can confirm that the locomotives have been confirmed as being available - as soon as we have more information about the visit we will put it onto the ELR website. Our grateful thanks to Ian Riley, the NRM and 5305 Locomotive Association for their assistance in securing the locomotives for the railway.

Which direction do the locomotives face?

Glad to see they've rostered 71000 and 70013 together. I might pop back from uni for a visit.

    From information on the ELR forum, all locos face as follows;

Boiler first when leaving Rawtenstall and tender first when leaving Heywood.

    HTH

PS; 32 is the other way round and on footplate experience at Rawtenstall bay platform.

I take it with all locos facing Heywood this is why there is no early Burs charter this time around ?

Thanks for the info. How unusual for all locos to face Heywood! Good result though, it's much more photography-friendly that way.
