What with the weather and the Channel Tunnel screw-ups over the last few days, I wonder if these tours will be cancelled?

Why? Trains around Kent have been running quite normally over the weekend, Eurostar is a seperate issue not related to the track.

Unless you have specific information your post could be considered irresponsible frothing.

Information from Steam Dreams (at 08.50) is that today's tour is running on schedule. There are severe problems on the Kent lines due presumably to icing on the pickups. Eurostar, as Oakfield points out, is a separate issue. With few emus running Tornado should have a clear run today!

Well, there is a lot of cancellations, late running and other weather related nonsense at Ashford this morning, so maybe the question is reasonably valid.

Did not realise the train this evening was going to france. Did not bring may passport!! Could be interesting pushing a few Eurostars out the way to get through.

Train went through Kent House spot on time. tried to post earlier but there seemed to be issues with the Nat Pres. site.

As the problems seem to be ice on conductor rails lets hopr Tornado can complete its trips!

Amazing isn't it - a total disaster on the railways in Kent today. The only engine moving on time........... Tornado.

Went down to Ashford station to see it - due 13:38 . I arrive at 13:30 - guess what - it was at least 10 minutes early! Furthermore, I think its running in stealth mode today, I live quite close to the line and haven't heard any whistles.

    Bummer

The greatness of Tornado. While everything runs late Tornados on time. Though where I am in Sussex the snow is starting to melt and I believe there is rain

My son saw something steam this morning** (but didn't see the engine) go past his office in Egham on the Staines line. Would this have been Tornado going in with the ECS? Obviously not the route of the actual train out of Victoria.

    46118

    Edit: ** Apparently around mid-day...???

Have to hope Tornado can run OK tonight. It's raining here now on Kent, and for those us hardened to travelling on third rail emus we know what that means at the end of a very cold spell! Rain freezing as it hits a a sub zero temperature conductor rail and anything left moving, (I don't think there is much!), comes to a stand. Blocking all routes.

Let's hope that doesn't happen and Tornado can have a clear run.

Nothing to do with Tornado, it could be any steam loco.

Through Kent House dead on time, behind two late running locals.

She looked & sounded superb rushing through in the gathering gloom and rain. Heavy use of the chime whistle on the approach. ( works are in progress on the platforms ' Kent House although the workmen had given up for the day).

On the evidence seen today Steam should be back hauling commuter services
