When I saw JE the other week he said work was progressing well on various bits of 'plumbing' and the cab.

No doubt Roger Dimmick will be able to tell us the latest and p'rhaps post a photo or two...

The work on erecting the bits on the loco itself is going to quiten down for a little while now, because of the need to build the underframe for the W&LLR Pickering.

I think you need to calm down and realise that priorities means taking on PAID work, as opposed to work on a loco which while desirable, is not essential.

According to Barrie's Welsh Highland site, the launch of Lyd is scheduled as follows:
A major effort is to be made to get the loco ready for launch on the FR this Spring.

    1-3/5/10 FR launch
    8-9/5/10 Visit to Launceston
15-16/5/10 Visit to Lynton and Barnstaple

One of the comics has been printing these dates for a few months now. The observant amongst you might point out that the 2010 operating dates for the Launceston Steam Railway (which are now available online - leaflet out shortly) do not include the 8th/9th May. Never fear, this does not mean the LSR will be closed for Lyd's visit - quite simply the LSR does not yet know when Lyd will be visiting!

Posted this morning on one of the L&B email groups.....

In view of possible delays to its completion, LYD will not now be coming to North Devon for our May Gala but will instead be in attendance at our September Gala.

Seeing as work has stopped while the Pickering carriage and its bogies are constructed there was little chance of it being finished for May. I'm sure finished or not it will appear at the FR gala in some form though. This is another good example of why you shouldn't believe everything written on Barrie's Welsh Highland site.
