Oh, thats not good. I was relying on her being on MHR for all of her 'ticket'. Thats a pain. No doubt she will be somewhere on the western or northern area. I know its appropriate, but it was nice to have her. I had better get volunteering down there as soon as possible to make the most of her.

It says in the MHR Spring Gala leaflet that 60019 is going to be based at Southall. The leaflet says that the gala will be one of the few remaining chances to ride behind 60019 before she moves to Southall. I will certainly be sad to see her go.

I will be working at the Alton end of the railway between Brick Kiln lane bridge and Northfield bridge on Saturday and Sunday taking photos and clearing up after someone has been cutting down vegetation and leaving it laying about without clearing up. So I will be having a few bonfires.

Is the MHR getting another of Mr JH`s fleet to replace her? There were rumours that 35027 was going there, although i doubt very much that Ropley would like to take on the overhaul of another Merchant Navy, given the current workload and the fact they have their own MN to overhaul at some later date.

From what I was told near the end of last year there may be 2 recently overhauled loco's coming to the MHR. Also I was told that 35027 is going to Crewe to be overhauled once 70000 is finished.

60019 going to based at Southall, has JH lost his senses? In 8 years or so time she will be another flying scotsman shot to bits and will cost him another million to overhaul whilst i wouldnt mind seeing a certain prototype 7mt being ropley based i think that this could be a decision that will come back to haunt him has no one learnt anything from the stories that surrounds engines that are in the care of the former FSS team unless threre is a new person in charge and a very carefull eye kept on the maintaince its all in my view going to end up very expensive for JH

With due respect but they may be out in the care of the team who look after 34067 ? There is more than one party at Southall

I have a feeling another of JH's locos may well be setting foot on MHR metals.... mainline connection and overhauls etc, I think we will see another one before too long - Bittern i think too will be back...

    Freight weekend

Although this thread has lost its Freight Weekend theme I had a wander round Medstead Yard on Sunday ,Plenty of progress but the restored Palvan is still up there will it make it to Ropley for Vac cylinder fitting ? .
I have managed to swap Saturdays at work so I will be able to attend both days now ... Having missed all the Autumn Gala it will make up for it .
On a personal note I have to admit the departure of 60019 to Southall will not be before time , A wonderful loco and it does have a following but over the Alps not for me .
If other locos turn up it will be nice to ring the changes but 6100 falls into the same category as 60019 worse still its RED ! Oh well , Maybe we can get it on the freight later on it will look good with the Yellow Presflow !.. David

In answer to your question David the restored Palvan Will be in traffic for the freight Weekend and a open shock van is coming over in it,s place,a big shunt is due within the next few days weather permitting.

Other news is that the coal wagon will be on display at Alresford and the goods shed will have three diifferent gauge model Railways thanks to Rob Score , one of the wagon group and a keen modeller. Henry O"Dwyer will also be showing a slide show starting at 4pm each day, but I hear that Yankee tank 30075 is still away on loan at Cheddleton for the next couple of months.

    A WTT is iminent.

    Regards
    Chris

You're doing better than us Traffic Department people, we have had no WTT for that on the Signalman's website, and I haven't seen one in hard copy!

If 30075 is unavailable does that mean 5224 will be used instead?
