As reported on their websites, both the Watercress line and the Bluebell Railway will NOT be running trains this weekend due to the snow and ice conditions.

Looks like the only steam down south this weekend will be the VSOE working with 'Clan Line'.

Llangollen Railway just announced that ALL TRAINS cancelled this weekend due to adverse weather.
Midland Railway-Butterley has also cancelled train service which was running on Sunday(no service planned for Saturday anyway).

East Lancashire Railway running, with a diesel theme day on Saturday, but diesel 37418 will be replacing the steam locomotive on Sunday, as we cannot guarantee the functionality of our water towers in the adverse weather.

Just spoken to the SVR HQ at Bewdley and as of now they are intending to operate their weekend Kidderminster- Highley services.

Mid Hants not running, as mentioned in another thread.

Good O. Anyone got on info on what the roads are like around Bewdley?

  13. No public trains until 13 Feb. This week, even the weekday, overnight GBRf ECS is not running to Bishops Lydeard due (I think) to frozen points at Norton Fitzwarren Junction so the train is stabling at Taunton until situation improves. The mainline HOBC workings to/from Norton Triangle are also cancelled, as is the planned Class 25 light engine move from Crowcombe to Norton, and a planned steam loco move from Minehead Shed to Williton Shed. Oh well.

Not entirely snow related but definitely linked to the weather, we're going to have to shelve operations at Tanfield on Sunday unfortunately as we have no water working anywhere on our main Marley Hill / Andrews House site... sorry.

GCR operating services at the GCR diesel gala, with Black Five 45231 'The Sherwood Forester' on the north end of the RB set with a diesel on the south end, and Gresley N2 1744 on the blood and custard set.

I got there from Redditch this morning, with no problems, apart from heavy traffic. As posted on the snow thread in New General Chat, we were out today with 7812, de-icing points and lighting fire-devils by water columns. It takes more than a bit of snow and ice to stop the Valley.

PS. It was -9C at Arley this morning!

Looks just as well that we rode and fotted the Marquess last weekend - not much to go driftbashing for this weekend

More snow already arrived so who know what it will look like tomorrow

Oh Well -everything double anti freezed, serviced and undercover at nights here - can't do anything more.

I wondered about the temperature going from -5 to -2 in the last couple of hours, time to isolate my pipes to the wash house... yeah, ok I got a severed pipe that will dump the contents of the hot water tank into the garage.. :tape:

Cheers for the early warning Frank :thumb:

    Neil.

BTW, Back on topic, Embsay are running a service on Sunday hopefully as I have a rare weekend off, see post 8 on the first page of this thread.
