Spent all day saturday at Bolton St. with the Renown Repulse Restoration Goup sales stand.
Very cold, but was a pleasure to watch the action from under the canopy, the place has a real atmosphere with all that BR steam in one place.
The place seemed very busy, and I sincerely hope ticket sales were good.

Excellent day on the Sunday, even if there was a couple of inches of snow, however, this all made it very atmospheric. It turned out a tough day for the crew on 30777 though, tender first into the cold and the snow, not too good for them.. Thanks to the ELR for a great day that went very well indeed, most enjoyable. Dave, your shot of 44871 at Heap Bridge is absolutely exceptional!

Controversial! A bit off-topic but I was at Crewe station today getting the train back to uni when I heard a whistle. Ambled over to the source of the sound and spotted 30777 and 70013 taking water en route back to Southall (I think)! That was a nice little surprise.

Not at all controversial - it is true.

Good to see the Brit back on the mainline and heading my way soon!

It was about 40 minutes late into Crewe, the driver of 30777 told me they intended to be away on time or thereabouts though. I couldn't stick around sadly since I had a train to catch!

Thanks Chris. It was a bit chilly, but it was the atmosphere that really made the day for me, apart from the SR interloper, it was the mid 60's again for a short while! Well done the ELR.

Top notch videos there yourself. [IMG]
