70013 LE Bury - Tyseley - Southall

Couldn't see a thread on this, so I thought I'd better start one! :wave:

I've heard a lot of crazy rumours about this, from that its coming down with stock, Sir Lamiel will be running down to Tyseley with it, or that 70013 will actually be 70000 Britannia???!!! :crazy: Does anyone know if any of this is true or not?

Should be 30777 with 70013 as far as Tyseley, then 70013 will contine on to Southall. I don't know why 30777 is going to Tyseley, any ideas anyone?

 

Uksteam.info now seems to confirm that 30777 Sir Lamiel is running with Cromwell down to Tyseley, and then 70013 is going on alone to Southall. Unfortunately I'm at school so I'll only be able to see 70013 solo in the evening, probably at Leamington. hwell:

 

I will probably get out to somewhere on the moss near Astley or Culcheth for this move. Forecast is fog though...

I went out this morning to see them, weather was good.

They passed me at Culcheth at around 10am, looking at the times on Uksteam info they would have been around a half hour late.

Thanks for the updates. I hope to see Ollie at Tackley after work this evening, so would welcome any reports of when she leaves Brum.

 

Does anyone have any ideas as to why 30777 is going to Tyseley??? Seems like an odd move if you ask me...

 

Maybe the 5305LA need to do more work on her before GB3 in April, and Tyseley has the equipment to do this? Or perhaps by hitching a ride now they save on movement costs later? Perhaps it's half-way to somewhere like Ilford for tyre-turning? Assuming that ELR didn't want to run her on their normal services during March, I guess staying at Tys is as cheap/expensive as staying at Bury. In any case, there's little point going back to Loughborough by road when there are main-line bookings coming up.

I'm pretty sure it's just a convenient stopping-off point before 30777 commences main line duties in early April. Seems pointess hiring a low-loader for trips to Loughborough and back when there is plenty of motive power there already.
