Looked perfect as it came through chandlers ford today, With oliver cromwell, i think videos are more effective than photos. It sounds great and moves really nicely. Though even as i descended the gradient into chandlers ford it was blowing out a huge head of steam which surprised me, look good though with entirely maroon stock. (support coach was on back)

70013 Oliver Cromwell working hard through Twerton tunnel, Bath, at 12:27.
A few minutes late due to preceding unit. All maroon stock. Very smart. <BJ>

Caught her at Haywards Heath and the loco arrived a few mins late. One of the station announces told us at one point how long 70013 would be. Quite busy today actually and 70013 slipped leaving the station in a massive cloud of steam. Post pictures tomorrow. Some funny stuff though someone was standing on top of a winnabago taking photos and my dad said he spotted a camera flash (and not a professional camera either) from between the trees above the tunnel.

My Dad and I caught her going through Clayton but it was so gloomy the photo wasn't that good. We then raced downed to the road bridge that looks over Hove Station and got a better photo of Cromwell thanks to the brighter weather. Can't wait to see 70013 at the Bluebell for Giants, she's got a superb exhaust sound to her.

The settings were 1/50th of a second, F5.6, ISO100 at a focal length of 200mm. At that shutter speed and that focal length I'm pushing my luck to get one anywhere near in focus, I took about half a dozen shots in the gaps between the trees, two of which are usable, but nowhere near perfect!!
The other one is this one:

Maybe just a couple of minutes late at Westbury, but making the usual wonderful sound track. Video from Avoncliff and Dilton Marsh.

As so often just before the train arrived the sun was perfect, but as the train approached so did the cloud!

gave a feeble screech of a whistle as it thundered back through chandlers ford, i do envy loco crews at this time of year, only whilst driving that is. 70013 really is a gem to behold when you are trackside, it always gives a good sound and a good head of steam.

Just coasted through Shoreham in the morning, but made a great departure from Chichester in the evening.

Anyone know when the Bristolian headboard was added. It wasn't there when 70013 left Haywards Heath first thing
