Nice enough pics without being anything particularly special, but any enjoyment I may have had is completely spoiled by the obtrusive watermark slapped across the train. A shame.

I have to agree about the watermark, the intention was to put it in the bottom left

What a stunning location! I think they are 'particularly special', or at least would be without the watermark.

Whereabouts were they taken? It's definitely a location I'd like to try out at some point.

Pleased to hear it wasn't deliberate. I know some people do like to slap them across the middle or the whole image and for me it completely spoils the enjoyment.

Great to see those - I was guard on the train yesterday - an "interesting" day with a 44 minute late start due to block problems (duly solved by our Operating Manager, Norman Hugill, who has almost mystical powers to make the unique Esk Valley signalling system behave itself!), we gained 34 minutes of this back by the booked stand of 25 minutes at Grosmont on the last trip to Whitby, mainly by very smart turn rounds at whitby and Battersby. Good weather (and an offer in the Whitby Gazette) brought out decent numbers of passengers who used all stations we served (Grosmont, Glaisdale, Danby, Castleton Moor and Battersby itself) - a steam "stopper" on Network Rail in 2010!
