Looks like a very late arrival back at Southall! Does Lizzie have rocker grates and ashpans to make this easier, or will the pleasure of such chores be saved until the morning without these luxuries?

Thanks! Can't have too many photos from Sydney Gardens, it's such a great location.

One of the park staff at Sydney Gdns said that some of the trees and shrubs in the bays are going to be cut back in the next couple of months.

    Cracking photos, mcgo.

Did anyone on here manage to get any video, of the evening run through Sydney Gardens? It sounds like I've missed a pretty spectacular departure!

At the time, I was in Bath, but unfortuately stuck in a meeting - d'oh.....

Thanks, the light was awful on the return run through Sydney Gdns, I had so use the highest ISO setting but was not confident I would have any shots. However, the sound of the engine building up speed from Bath was loud and clear. Not sure if anyone was taking video shots, perhaps something will be on youtube later.

I was with my good friend Philip Griffin who filmed the train through Sydney Gardens and I have to say it was definately something special. I'll post a link on here later! :)

It was a good video shot from Philip Griffin, I thought that the light had improved five minutes before it ran through, but I wasn't happy with my photos, and was surprised I had something.

Wow - forgotten how much I like Lizze! Saw her in the morning through Tilehurst on the main and then at Cholsey in the evening. Well worth the 50 minute wait in the evening and even though she was on the relief she was almost as going as well as the King was in December!

Not a great video, but gives the impression of speed and noise at Cholsey in the evening - watch out for the kid covering his ears as she roars past!

Could be going out to the triangle for turning while still warm before the return another day - would the loco have arrived at Southall the wrong way round for the return north? Of course it depends how far west your mate saw it. Its next duty is out of Carnforth on Thursday.
