    SOUTHERN RAILWAY CONTAINER AVAILABLE.

Friends of Romsey Signal Box are considering disposing of a former Southern Railway Container that has been on their site since 1995. The container has seen better days, but all the metal work and galvanised cladding are complete. Any group who wanted to acquire the container would be responsible for its removal from the site in Romsey which only has limited road access.

Please contact me by PM if your group would be interested in taking ownership.

    Regards, Neil

I was speaking to the rolling stock director at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. He asked me to post the following.

"15ton Steam Crane DRC80115 is for sale but can actually be offered free to a good home, buyer to collect."

If anyone is interest, PM me (preferably with an email address) and I will pass on your details. I know that is has seen some repairs, but these stalled and it remains unrestored.

In addition to the steam crane DRC80115, the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway are also offering a 18t Smith & Rodley diesel crane for sale. Anyone interested email the GWR rolling stock director on richard.drewitt "AT" gwsr.com (replace "AT" with @)

GWR BOW END Corridor 3rd no. 4786 is available at the SVR if anyone is interested. Please note that if no takers are found ASAP then it is likely to be scrapped. It is a relatively rare coach (only 7 bow enders survive) so it would be such a shame if this was to happen so if anyone can offer it a home please act quickly and get in touch with the railway NOW!!!
The coaches VCT register listing can be found here - http://www.cs.vintagecarriagestrust.org/se/CarriageInfo.asp?Ref=199

In simple terms it cant stay where it is. It isn't the rarest coach but it is certainly rarer than a mk1! The real problem is storage space - I know that one railway was interested but there simply wasn't room at the inn! That is why I put about it's availabilty on here - hopefully someone will have space for it! I am led to believe that the coach is in reasonable condition and definately restorable. There are no running examples at all the moment so it would be nice to see 4786 in service somewhere in the future.

Just to clarify, the WSR and their vintage carriages project have been made aware of this coach, but cannot take it on board.

I haven't got any pictures but I did see it today and it doesn't seem to bad and appears restorable and I have heard that structurly it is reasonable although it could do with repainting. The best people to ask if you want pictures is the SVR theirselves they might have more pictures and WILL have a better idea of it's condition etc!

Last I knew, 4786 was the Kidderminster Station Group Accommodation coach - what is being used for this job now if 4786 has to go?
