    Hi Folks,

Our first diesel running day of 2010 is next Saturday, 10th April and will see Class 26 D5310 on only her second day of public service on the railway.

With four round trips on offer from a normal Day Return ticket, these days offer the haulage enthusiast excellent value for money.

The 26 is working the B Timetable slot, with departures from Llangollen at: 10:30, 12:00. 14:00 and 16:00.

    Full timetable details here: http://www.llangollen-railway.co.uk/ttnextyear.html

We look forward to welcoming a few Sulzer bashers along!

    Cheers

Hi - I'm thinking of visiting for this running day and have spotted a nice photo spot somewhere around Glyndyfrdwy i'd like to visit. A fotopic link to the shot is here.

Would someone with some knowledge of this line be able to confirm that it's a) a public spot and if it is then b) where it is?

I have examined the maps and the curvature of the line and have made a map showing where I think its taken from which can be found here. Am I correct?!?

    Thanks in advance Llangollen fotters!

Yep, that's it. About 1/4 mile or so beyond Glyndyfrdwy village heading towards Carrog. In the background of the photo, just behind the last coach, you can see Fisherman's Crossing. http://5944.fotopic.net/p57757390.html shot looking the other way from down the field. That shot of the 26 looks to be taken from the main road. There's a couple of spots to park if you need to from what I remember, otherwise walk from Glyn station.

That shot looks as if it is from somewhere behind the now shut Berwyn Arms pub, on the A5 road heading out of Glyn. Just out of shot in the bottom right hand corner is a public footpath crossing the line, so it should be on public land...

On the map you have linked in, the building to the right is the closed pub. And the bit between the two entrances of that road that looks like a runround loop is woodland, so i'm guessing that the picture is taken from the edge of that wood...

I'm seconman on the loco that day so give us a wave if you make it!!!!!
