whilst not strictly an event this is a happening as such, please support the campaign, i know its over the water, but having travelled and photographed the line and its people for the last ten years ,if we put half as much effort into trying to save this line as we did the s&c then wed be doing a very proud thing for the people of the south east of ireland who have a jem of a rail network that is so underused its absolutely unbelievable in todays climate.

The details of the meeting between CIE and local public at the TIr Na Nog inn at Wellington bridge last night have been uploaded on councillor Joe Ryans blogspot

The meeting was well attended my dad says the whole room was packed out and CIE put a pretty weak case forward for closure while very few of the questions tabled by the members of the public were answered at all the case for retention of the line is now gaining momentum

check out more on councillor Ryans blogspot

Have signed the petition, good luck. Have not been on the line but did travel from Rosslare to Dublin 30 years ago.

many thanks!, whilst i myself am living over here in england i do have family on the line and for many years have both tried to regularly use it to get to them from here as well as an interest in the signalling side of it, ive seen it run down and underused over the years by those who are supposed to be promoting it, all of this now is in the public domain and was mostly brought up at the meeting at Wellingtonbridge,it certainly can be saved and better marketted with the right approach, the Settle and Carlisle proves this can be done!, the more that sign the greater a chance it will !

at the moment there are a series of daily protests to highlight the line, todays is being held at Bridgetown

Many thanks to all who support the line
