I must of been the only one out for this today! My video from between the two tunnel south of Guildford and a foot crossing between Shalford and Chilworth, the latter a location I will not bother trying again as you just cant get a good spot for photo or video there, too many things in the way! Anyway video below and photos to follow...

I was out for this as well. Was on a footbridge just outside Gomshall station. I was trying out a DSLR I've borrowed for the weekend so the image might not be that great as its the first time I've used one. Picture here:

Nice photo, that location and the foot crossing at Albury are the next two I want to try!

Thanks. I was actually going to try Albury today but I went for that bridge as I thought the light would be a bit easier to deal with. I shouldn't have worried though as it was fairly dull anyway. The bridge in the first shot of your video seems a good place to catch it coming out of the tunnel from Guildford so I might try there on another day.

It was sunny when I first got to the bridge but then the sun went in and never came back out. That bridge is Ferry Lane, a very short, narrow road off of the A3100, today was the first time I had been there and been unable to park in one of the spaces down there, but I just went down the road a short way and parked in Chestnut Avenue. Its a good spot there, away from traffic noise etc.

I went out to see it but I didn't bother with my camera. I have too many shots of the same train in the same or similar locations.
I guess it shows how lucky were are that it is a regular occurrence. Long may it continue.

Are we all getting complacent about this working? One day it mite all come to an end. The only regular steam working on southern metals and most enthusiasts don’t even bother to watch/photograph it. Just because it’s always running. One day in the future. Everyone will be chasing around the Guildford area trying to catch the last photos of this once regular steam working.

    Such is life!

I didn't go out as I would rather photograph it in sunshine.

For me, living near Brighton steam past my station (Hassocks) is at the moment twice a year with RYTC Haywards Heath to Bristol trains so I can only arrange to see Clan Line on that route a few times a year so it still has that rarity value about it, I guess if you live on or near the route however with goodness knows how many tours do that a year (30/40?) and Clan Line must be 75% of them the appeal must wear off slightly, throw in the poor weather yesterday as well and thats the result!
