Just as long as I've got space to stable locos and someone hasn't dumped a load of ballast on the pad It'll be alright...

No ballast on the PAD - where's your spirit of adventure gone? Incidentally, have you been taking your Haliborange tablets?

I'm hoping the HX 'finishers' have enough time get into the sidings and 'dispose' before a quick jog back to get the next Down train to Swanage [on the cushions!].

Hope it hasn't gone to your hair again! May be no ballast, but there are currently two rather reticent ground frames to operate with the section staff... Unless S&T have been up there with the oil can :boink:

Quite correct. 'Boyo' has done you proud with a Bobby on all three days!
Incidentally, you'll have to be rationed to the one outer of blue Panda Pops each day. Think they are really made to the original "Sunny Delight" recipe - but with a Reckitt's "Blue Bag" for colouring. Although it's got to be good for you as there's nothing natural in it!
Have you an emergency supply of Signalmen in Plymouth perchance? 'Boyo' would be most grateful as he hasn't yet got any volunteers at all for the three boxes on Saturday night. No worries there then!!

No, no,no. The Swanage Railway should be ashamed of itself. Providing useful information to passengers (customers) so that they can plan their day(s). How dare they! Its much better to charge everyone a fiver for a shoddy photocopied timetable that can only be bought on the day, and doesn't have any loco diagrams.

Our Swanage "Birds Nest" team are entering into the spirit of the Diesel Gala by coming up with:

The "56101 Diesel Crew Breakfast" from 07:30 each day; and

The "33111 Hot Dog" which, with Bacon rolls, should be available on all three days until around 15:00.

Just a reminder that, unfortunately, we've been able to have a shuttle bus between Wareham and Norden Park & Ride. Wilts & Dorset provide two routes which can be used by Gala visitors.

SWT travellers to Wareham Railway Station should use Route 40 : http://www.wdbus.co.uk/uploads/40may10.pdf
First bus from Wareham Station 07:04 (Sunday 08:24). Last bus back from Swanage to Wareham 21:45

SWT or XC travellers to Bournemouth Interchange should use Route 50 : http://www.wdbus.co.uk/uploads/50may10.pdf
Friday is their normal hourly service but Saturday and Sunday W&D have scheduled their half-hourly service. First bus to Swanage 07:57. Last bus back to Bournemouth 20:25.

Long range forecast indicates Friday might be windy, cloudy with possible showers. Saturday and Sunday seem to have less wind but, possibly, more rain.
However, there is still some time to go and this area of Purbeck can have its own micro-climate so keep praying for fine weather.

Apologies, we have had to pull out of this gala. I have phoned one of the organizers and expressed my disappointment at not being able to attend and help out.
There are reasons behind this or which I have explained to Steve.

    Cheers

Excellent photos. I'm afternoon shunter at Norden for the 3 days, so if anyone's around say hello. I daresay a few others from the forum will be on duty as well...
