    Thanks Matt35027,

please be advised though that the times in the S N website are the provisional timings that have been there since the New Year and are not necessarily the final, confirmed times.

I just received an email via a yahoo group that states that 70013 has failed her FTR. Firstly is this true, and if so, are there any locos that could step into the breach?

Regrettably, I can confirm that 70013 will not be available for Sunday's Shepherd Neame train. Given that the information was received late yesterday afternoon (Friday) and with only 30777 on Southall (which cannot work into Victoria, for starters), we could not arrange a replacement steam loco. The train will now be top & tailed with Cl. 37s.

Friday was not a good day, as we had another visit at Southall, from the local scrotes with aerosol cans, who broke in and had a go at reliverying several vehicles. Thankfully, the lads on site have worked hard at removing the mess.

Anyway, we press on - these things are only sent to try us!

During preparation for Sunday’s Shepherd Neame “Spitfire” charter to Faversham, we found a problem with the firebox of No. 70013 “Oliver Cromwell” which means that the locomotive is not fit for traffic. We will keep you posted about the repairs once we (and the boiler inspector) have fully investigated the problem.

I have not heard the rumour but if it is correct it would be because the spitfire was wcrc operated and 60163 is only operated by dbs crews.

I believe that 60163 was available and could have done it if asked. This was made known, however as maureen says maybe the clash of operators caused a problem, the curse of paperwork.

Any reason why 30777 cannot work into Victoria?

She seemed pretty fine there on the 24th of April. http://mammoth.fotopic.net/p64426045.html

I think it can work out of Victoria and not in as it will touch the platforms with its cylinders further in the station. Would of been good if they could of terminated it at Waterloo or Clapham Junction instead?

Correct, but the plan was never going to get cleared and re-timed on Saturday - and, to be honest, I would not have expected it, at that notice.
