I've just returned from a few days on the island, and have a few questions - can anybody answer them?

There is a loco boiler on a wagon in the shed at Castletown - which loco did this come from?
Why was No. 8 Fenella (inside Douglas shed) carefully wrapped up in a tarpaulin last weekend?
Where are No. 5 Mona and No. 9 Douglas stored?
Where on the island is No. 14 Thornhill? Do ANY post-1970s pictures of it exist? Has anybody even seen it since then?

    Any information gratefully received!

Probably not the best place to ask for info on Manx stuff, try the forum on the IoMSRSA site :becky:

The loco currently doesn't have a running agreement between it's owners and IoM Transport.

RIGHT at the back of the new Douglas carriage shed - sealed in due to the fact they're full of asbestos.

Enough have seen it, and photos exist - i've got one or two - but it's location is a bit of a secret and will probably remain that way......there's not really much more to say than that!

It's the old Hunslet boiler ex number 10 ex number 13. There is a policy of keeping them under cover in case they get the change to send them away for rebuilding. Number 12's old Israel Newton boiler is in the goods shed at Port St Mary, apparently.

With regards to Thornhiill, i dont think its that great a secret where she is, a former railway footplateman on the IMR bought her together with one of the ex MNR 6 wheelers and moved her to the north of the Island, i havent seen her my self but a few of my friends on the Island have seen her - sadly restoration appears to be a long way off.
