MHR WAR ON THE LINE JUNE 5TH AND 6TH.

I picked up the leaflet for this event last weekend and it looks like it's going to be an excellent event once again. A Lancaster Flypast, a Spitfire on the ground at Ropley which will be started up!, a special Pin-up calendar will be available to raise funds for the Help For heroes charity and 34007 will be changing identities and running as a BoB class or two. Plus all the usual vehicles and re-enactors in their period clothes. I am really looking forward to this.

 

Damn and blast. Can't make the Saturday and am booking 6024 on the Sunday. Would have been nice to see which BBs 34007 ran as.

 

I expect 34051 may be one of the identities as 34105 ran as 34051 during the '90s. So they probably still have the nameplates.

 

34007 is due to carry 2 nameplates : 219 Squadron on one side and 73 squadron on the other.
Should be a great event.

 

Sounds good. I shall pop along on Saturday. I notice that according to the BBMF website the flypast is due for Saturday, 15:05 at Ropley.

Pity its not 72 squadron or I would pop down and take a picture for my father.

 

ONly 3 loco train service, no goods. We only have 3 locos, 5224, 92212 and 34007 and they will all be needed on service trains. 34007 will have cabside numbers changed.

 

What has happened to Lord Nelson?

 

"Nellie" is stripped down for a bottom end overhaul and will take some time to repair.

A fantastic event once again and the trains were packed. Even managed to get one of the pin-up calendars signed by the model. I don't think there were many left by the end of the day. A real shame about the problems with 34007 as she looked great wearing three identities and sounded in great form on the first run up from Alresford. Thanks to all involved for an excellent day.

 

34-whatever-it-was had injector problems i take it? thats sounds like fun for me this week...

 

I got one or two nice photos of 34061/86 from Stable lane today.
