I spent a pleasant couple of hours on sunday at the GCR watching the Old Timers. No that's not the other linesiders but Rocket ,Planet,Furness No 20 etc.It was a beautiful sunny day after saturdays rain and gloom although there was a stiff breeze. It made a great change to see these little locos running especially Rocket and Planet which looked superb. Well done to the GCR again.

A few of my pictures are up now at http://www.steamgalore.co.uk/

What a great gala it was !! = What made it different were the old timers and the frequent trips down the line, although Planet & Rocket only went as far as Quorn from Loughborough & Furness 20+ Wells tank as far as Rothley.
I only made the one trip from Quorn to Loughborough & return, plus a look around the sheds, but i wanted to go lineside somewhere with the camera.
I would have like to have seen Sir Berkley given a run outside the station limits with the stone wagons at Loughborough, but that was my only little gripe.
Think this was the best gals I`ve been to sincs SSS11 !! - High praise indeed - well done GCR

Nice pictures John but your pictures of Rocket etc. are not at Rabbit Bridge that is just south of Kinchley Lane towards Swithland Res.These pictures are around Woodthorpe Lane Bridge area.

I understand that Sir Berkeley will be running a little further this coming weekend.

Yes I am an active volunteer
Indeed it did, I'm jealous, had I known I'd have requested that on the Monday rather than the Saturday :p

Was good to finally see something really actually interesting on a so called 'premier' heirtage railway.

We do this sort of thing all the time at the Ffestiniog Railway, so if you like interesting, watch out for our Heritage Weekend in October.
