Uksteam now shows this as 44871 rather than 30777. Presumably 30777 is out of gauge at Three Bridges? Its a long haul for the 5 though. Its coming all the way from Bury down to London tomorrow - and going all the way back up to Bury on Monday!

Yes, 30777 is apparently out of gauge!!! Ridiculous!!!

Does anyone have the times for 44871 for tomorrow to Southall??

What is the likely positioning move to be before the tour? Sometimes the train runs to Three Bridges the night before and is stabled overnight, other times it runs from Southall to Three Bridges in the early moring before the tour. Hopefully UKSteam will have some times if available.

According to UKsteam.info, she's bringing ECS and a diesel with her from Crewe, routed via Oxford. My guess is that the diesel will do the work, to save on water stops as far as possible.

Oh better get down to Haywards Heath then. Hope they have better luck with this one. I remember 45407 failed during one of the Brighton Breezy trips in 2001/2002.

IIRC it was Feb 2002, and she derailed in a yard (Stewarts Lane??) between morning and evening trips. Probably doesn't count as a "failure", but was a "no show".

Hot box on bogie wheel set at Clapham Junction, not a derailment. I'd just shovelled about 2 tons of coal forward only to be told she had failed!

Times now up which is great including early morning and evening positioning moves. One question. Will the train being going via Redhill or the Quarry Route in the morning move? I assume it is Quarry Route. Cheers

Well there was a nice turnout at Haywards Heath today and members of Staff taking photos. 44871 was looking great (as did the ladies who accompany the train). Will post some pictures later. Brilliant way of getting rid of the World Cup upset. Also nice that the last 2 locos that have been to Haywards Heath hauled the 15 Guinea Special.

Seen at Newton Meadows on the outward journey in a lucky patch of sun. Shame this typical Avon Valley formation is not on the Midland a hundred yards behind.

Was spot on time at Hassocks this morning so shouldnt of been that late into Preston Park, might of been running early this morning possibly at the viaduct. Just back from Wivelsfield tonight, was about half hour late through, seemed to lose her path out of Preston Park after water as I saw a Rail Tours update saying 15 late at Ford. Will edit my video of this morning and tonight tommrow and my Dad may upload his video from tonight as well.

It arrived a few mins down at Haywards Heath yesterday morning but an up Bedford FCC took Platform 1 where 44871 was due to go in and left about 3 mins before 44871 arrived and as the line goes from 4 tracks to 2 (if you exclude the Ardingly branch) so that might have delayed her. Left on time though. Didn't go down again yesterday evening so don't know how late she was.
