That particular picture also seems to have been taken on the Mid Hants - thats the tender of S15 506 ahead of it.

There was a WD 2-10-0 numbered 601 named Kitchener but it seems she was scrapped.

The 601 at MHR was of course todays 90775 now at the NNR. From the NNR site:

Your final 3 shots of 601 are at ropley not longmoor.

Does anyone know why this name was preferred rather than the name Kitchener as worn by the original 601?

There does seem to be an LSWR type lattice signal post sticking out of the cab roof, does the GCR have any of them?

Thought it was, just past the footbridge

Question, the S160 has moved to Portland, whats there??

Also, any progress on the Us and S15s on the MHR? Very historical (and beautiful) locomotives...

As far as Portland is concerned, I went and had a look on Tuesday. British India Line is there, looking rather sad. Cunarder is also still there, I believe, in bits. The site is a private one, so hard to get a decent pic of the engines.

My pics are up at: http://jonedwards.photobook.org.uk/p65446143.html and the following four.

Everytime i see a picture of 35018 it seems more and more stuff is piled infront of her.

Is there a working future for any of these locomotives? 35018 always seemed the more appealing 'MN' condition wise to restore but she seems to have become more forgotten as time goes on.

I've always heard the S160's have proved to be good machines, but the ex MHR one seems to have not had any news since it arrived at Portland.
