There was no service train in front of you last evening, I can assure you of this as I was standing on the footbridge at Shortlands and no up trains had passed for several minutes.

The signal was at green, but appeared to return to double amber after you failed to stop at Bromley South. I would imagine they were going to stop the train on a red at Ravensbourne station.

The train would have been too long to allow the Diesel to attach to the back at Waterloo under the protection of Signals and thus had to accompany the train for the evening circular

Yes I am an active volunteer
I can also add that when I saw the train at Botley last night the 67 was switched off too! It just amazes me what people write on here at times, just because its on the back everyone starts presuming its going to pushing. If it needs assistance then the driver will call. As stated it was needed for hauling the stock out of Waterloo on the return.

Knowing one of the chappies in charge of Steam Dreams, if a box on the back is required, it will happen but if theres no need for it then I can safely say that it wont be on the back!

    That sounds very good indeed.

I'd love to know how Tornado peformed with the 10 mins to passing Farnborough and 23 mins to passing Basingstoke from the Woking restart with that load. And no help from the box. Anyone here timing the train?

No Times but I did see it through Fleet on the down fast and the box was doing nothing.
