Have you decided to travel on this tour then?

 

Would love to but think I will have to give it a miss. Got a busy day at work on Friday and don't finish until 11pm. Travelling on Sat. would mean around 5am departure (from Kidderminster) with a midnight or so return. I'm then back at work 3-11pm on Sunday.
I'm sure you will have a great time. Thanks for your info. No times yet posted on UKSteam.

Heading towards Preston on time at Fowler lane, Farington.
Not much clag, but what a beast !! Extremely impressed by the performance and how it was running as it passed by at speed.
They are in for a treat on the return leg over the S&C later it it gets a clear path'

Without a Diesel or Genny Van in the formation am i right in thinking the Air Con is inoperative ?, might be getting a bit sweaty later on in this weather...

 

Why use this type of stock on steam tours anyway? Not exactly authentic. Something out of the 70's & 80's. You can get away with non air-con MK 2's though, ie the Green Train.

 

Opening Window Stock is banned from the Maryport - Carlisle section of the Coast.

 

the Duke passed Carnforth about 10 mins down, it seems nobody is texting updates so far, is the system running ok?. or maybe its too complicated for some. no diesel but only 10 on, seemed to accelerate very gently from Carnforth, gave the impression it could handle 20,

 

OK Ralph, just negotiating with the wife, hoping to get to 'long preston(ETA 18.51) hellifield(ETA 19.24), or thereabouts, so will text if I get there and remember to take my phone. ho, ho.

The word from someone on the tour is that the Duke is coming off at Blackburn on the return, is this just news to me?

Difficult to be sure from the pictures, but I think that is probably the ex-SLOA Generator van on the back.
