If yo are talking about about the ones used on the trench railways you could contact the mosley trust as they are restoring one and could put a tape over it for you as it is stored on a site not with not public viewing.

    hope this helps

The Hudswell 0-6-0WT belonging to the Moseley Railway Trust @ Apedale, is now away at a private site being restored to working order. It is currently in a very dismantled state! Some news around this does appear on the regularly updated news section/blog - see www.mrt.org.uk

The Moseley loco was built at the same time as the other WD locos destined for military service in France. It was one of a pair that were shipped directly to Ghana to work at Gold mine - gold was quite important to the war effort at the time... From what I have seen, the only possible (& not validated yet) difference between the WDLR locos & the Ghana units were the couplings/drawgear.

Although this loco will not be present - there will be plenty more to see at the Grand Opening Gala of the passenger railway on 18/19th September. Please see the website for further details.

    Cheers

  4. Thanks rusty project i shall contact the MRT shortly .

Although similar, I understand that Bronllwyd is actually a different class of Hudswell 0-6-0WT. It was certainly built later (1930) than the WW1 machines (which were G or Gangees Class).

There is book available on Hudswells which details these things - written by Ron Redman (former employee). I THINK the Moseley Trust still have some for sale...

    Cheers,
    Gareth

I should also add that the first boiler Bronllwyd carried in preservation was actually recycled off Kerr Stuart Tattoo Class 0-4-2ST "Stanhope" - which will be at the MRT in September!
