Hello Jane. I will be out to watch you storm through Beaconsfield.

I hope you have a great trip, I would have been on it with you but we have visitors from overseas who thought it was too much money for a day out :eek:hwell:

Plus, they don't arrive at Heathrow till 9pm Friday so I admit it would have been a bit of a stretch to be on that train 11 hours later....

Amazingly for such a 100% SR man as myself I did check out the timings on UK steam.info Jane.

It would be a long day and for that I'd need to be very sure indeed that the current dry weather didn't see the late addition of a box to the train. But enjoy the day, even though you'll be working, and thanks for putting the details up here.

I will hopefully be out to see the return leg somewhere between Didcot and Reading. Would have loved to be on it but circumstances dictated otherwise. Hope you don't get one of those "assistance" boxes on the back............

My Dad and I will be travelling on this one; we have treated ourselves to first class too! Should be a great trip on an interesting route behind an excellent engine! Popped over to see The King storming past Dawlish at the weekend and she looked to be in fine fettle! Will be great to ride behind her again on some different Great Western territory! Very much looking forward to this one, really hope there isn’t a need to have a box attached!

UK steam now lists 6024 as going to Stew Lane not Yeovil. Anyone any idea why? Can't cee any trips that the King might undertake.

Have we mentioned if it can take over the VSOE while Clan Line is out of service yet? ie. braking eqpt. and route clearance?
