46115 Royal Scots Guardsman - I've been told she's due through Leamington Spa in 60 mins heading north, possibly for Carnforth.

It may have been just a brief visit to the south coast for 46115 but what a fantastic loco we've been able to witness. Many thanks to all concerned. <BJ>

Yes. From what I've read and seen here on Nat Pres, she's been added to my list of locos to get a run behind when a dreaded box is not on the train.

Oh dear. That list of non ex SR locos now reads, 44871, (plus other Black 5s), 46201, 46233 and 46115. Have to be appropriate routes though. LOL!

Bu in case you all think I am going soft I can still proudly boast that since my first noted down steam run on 4th June 1960, (30921 from Sevenoaks to London Bridge on the 4.40 pm ex Margate), I have still not had a run behind a steam locomotive with a five digit number starting with a "6".

I see - obviously leaving the best until last but I expect you'll find the wait worth while. After all even Bulleid learned his craft at Doncaster !

I've been brought up to believe that Bulleid went to Doncaster to teach the natives how to design a steam locomotive! LOL!

I did photo a sharp pointy thing once. Had plenty of time to get photos as it stalled on Gomshall Bank with the VSOE. Got going again ok though, when the box started pushing! Never kept the photos though. My Symantec anti-Gresley filter wouldn't let me download them! (wink).

From other postings you have made I guess you are also fitted with an anti-Churchward / Collett filter! Some of us are not so well protected and only filter out "boxes" (with the possible exception of Class 52s)
