First passenger train 10.00, last departure from Caverswall road 17.00 from an earlier post. I am sure there will be freight movements b4 and after as in previous years.

In 2009 the last pass was at 1600 so that is great news if it means freights are also running latter. Also means I might have to have to look at the timetable this year...

Cancel that query... Found it. Is there any parking at the Colliery? Simon

I was not able to put in a full day at Dilhorne today, but there was a good session and I think we were of service.

I hope to be up to camp next weekend and look forward to a seesion or two in the "One Legged Shunter"

If any austerity owners read this, the chimney pattern produced jointly with (and largely by the effort of) Ribble Steam Railway is at a foundry for a quotation and if anyone would like to join the batch, please get in touch.

    Regards,

    Tim

Regarding timetable, as said 10 til 5, normally at 45 minute intervals, though I haven't seen the full document yet to confirm this. Parking at the colliery, yes there is some, failing that there's always that bus link from Caverswall Road (which is far easier to find!)

It's all in the timetable, public versions due in print today - and I want you all to buy one !!.

Yes variation has been achieved, line fts early and late doors.

Dubs has her slot to work to and from Foxfield if she makes it. Final steam test due with all the boiler plumbing on Thursday. Tanks ready to be filled and injectors almost complete. Still a list as long as your arm to do - at one point we had seven folk working away today. The plan is to complete boiler paperwork by Thursady, Friday the rods go on for the first time. Two shift working now achieved with the painting team due to follow the spanner boys around at silly o clock. Still the slewing engine is now all bolted down so at the very least we can make the jib go round.

Whiston is looking better, Mr Whiston ( now a regular reader ) is going for it - tank to finish, cab to fit and lubrication. Air brakes and go faster stripe not going on just yet.

In truth still lots to do - thanks to those that have helped to date.

Tanfield Massive due to arrive about Friday tea time ready to set up camp, expecting around a dozen of us but that could yet rise.

Really looking forward to a good weekend as usual.

Best way to get to the Colliery is still to park at Blythe Bridge Caverswall Road station and catch the FREE bus to the colliery. Parking is limited at the colliery and on road parking alongside not advisable as it is a minor road with lots of idiots who like to go fast down it!

Is this area; http://psychobadger.fotopic.net/p59722706.html, easily accessible from the colliery?

    Cheers,

Yes, the colliery is just out of sight through the trees to the far right of the photo. Only proviso is stout footware advised as the path is a little rutted in places.

Things seem to have progressed today.

Whistons cab roof is now back on, and pipework is continuing to be put on

Dubs also progressed too tonight with more pipework on and some other jobs coming together.

Photos of Duebs to follow tomorrow - would've been tonight had I not left my camera in sootyxfd's car! (Hence the poor quality camera phone images of mog)

Whiston pictured in one big lump yesterday, just the plumbing to finish, looking very likely to be in action, with or without lining?

Dubs crew working nights to get enough done to have her in steam....
