    I only normally use IE, but my latest PC came with Firefox installed, so I have a shortcut to start it and then a link to Live Updates. When it connects, all but the last 5 or 6 updates appear, then these last few appear within say 5 seconds. Using IE the same list appears excepting these last few which can take some minutes before they finally show.
    I think Firefox takes about 8Mb so it might be worth downloading just for it's speed in this instance.

    The Text alert system has not proved to be of any value to me.It will only work if people connectected to the running of a specific tour are able to post messages.The cancellation at short notice of steam on the Torbay Express was known late yesterday but lineside viewers were out in force to see D.O.G.I have registerd for 4 tours and have only had 3 messages so far.Unless this system is used by more people it will be a waste of money registering

    Anyone can post messages on the system, but it does rely on members doing just that, if you have been out linesiding have you posted an update after seeing the train concerned??
