I hear an early steam up is in order tomorrow, and looking at the Ffestiniog webcam, the L&B coach is in Harbour station...

Lyd currently out and about being filmed doing trials on a 6 car test train on the lower sections of the line. Not sure if it will venture down to Port later but I've just seen it go up to Minffordd at about 8.50am. Sure some people will post pics soon!

Well, they have been turning them out in three consecutive Centuries, so they should have a reasonable idea of what they're doing.

Baldwin diesel 'Moelwyn' and Wagon 63 ran ahead of 'Lyd' and the 6-carr 'A' set - slightly 'Great St Trinian's Train Robbery' in appearance, but well controlled and with a clear understanding between the respective drivers.

For those that remember, the footage from the Graham Whistler 'Ffestiniog Railway' video of yore was shot in the same fashion...

Coincidentally, Gordon Rushton who filmed that was also among the three videographers and four photographers who were travelling in Wagon 63.

Photographs will be appearing on fotopic later this week...

Shame about the errors in the report.
    a) It has only so far been tested on the Ffestiniog Railway
    b) We built Taliesin in 1999
Lyd may well sound good, but 63 is just as exciting, what a truck.

Yeah, I'll say it's exciting - it rock and rolls all over the place... You could have done something about that when you rebuilt it !!!

I double checked this today and the plate on Tal's smokebox clearly reads 'Rebuilt 1999', not 'Built 1999'.

When viewed from ahead you really see just how tight some of those clearances are with the dry stone walls !

Doesn't she make a lovely sound ? Apart from the shrill whistle of course where the Ffestiniog management may well have a point
