Thursday whilst travelling to Edinburgh, just after passing the island of Lindisfarne we passed a green saddle tank in a field on the coast side of the ECML. It looked like a Peckett; anyone got the gen on this loco please?

Formerly at Bugle/Bodmin, then Swanage from where it was sold on eBay in a dismantled state to the present site. Been there since late 2008.

It's owned by a mate of one of our drivers at Tanfield. Was reassambled and painted for this location but haven't heard what the long term plans are, can ask our guy next time I see him though.

PS if you're interested in Geordie steam then check out our Legends of Industry thread on the gala pages... Geordie J72 No. 69023 has come home at last!

In terms of long-term plans, the firebox is shot - was in a particularly poor state anyway, so the inner firebox was cut out to prevent anyone attempting a bodge job. Will be a comparatively expensive job for a smaller loco.

Thanks for the gen - I had seen this myself last year, and had wondered at the time what I had just seen as we dashed past!
