Apologies if a thread is already open.

Wrongly routed at Wavertree(?) Jn - diesel had to be re-attached to draw the train back. Shown running 50 mins late at Preston.

I think I have managed to get this all into one thread and remove any unnecessary posts.

My video from Edge Hill before the above goings on! I decided to render in black & white as a tribute to the great Eric Treacy. Apologies for the poor sound but I only realised too late that the external mic. was not picking up the sound correctly.

If a stop at Barton was still made and even allowing for a splash n dash at Carnforth thats an incredible run over Shap. 60163 did Preston to Carlisle in 87 minutes in June, and 6233 seems to have done it in about 2 hours with a stop at Barton and a water stop at Carnforth?

Interesting that when the big railway makes a mistake it magically seems able to find a way of managing the train (through reduced time at stops?) to allow for the recovery to an early arrival at Carlisle. Pity they can't start with a sensible schedule and path so giving the punters an extra hour in bed! That said, I suspect the running might have been better as a result.

No stop at Barton this morning so taking off the 35 minute stop and the slowing down and starting there's nearly 45 minutes made up, arrival at Carnforth was said to be about 3 minutes down, brisk running from Preston will account for any more lateness.

It was good to meet you this morning at Edge Hill, Austin, and another brilliant video of a Stanier Pacific climbing the cutting out of Lime Street. The late, great Eric Treacy will be smiling down on you!

My pictures there were rubbish but I did catch 6233 coasting down through Settle ten minutes early this afternoon, sadly the sun had vanished.
