Jane, I'm sorry but the words Bank Holiday and hot sunny do not exist together in the English language!!!
Hope it's a good day out any way.:)

Good to hear that 6024 is venturing so far West. Hope that those who travel also have a good time at the Gwili Railway, during the layover at Carmarthen. I won't be there (I'm in Dorset!), but sure all at Bronwydd Arms will make you feel welcome.

Say 'hi' to them for me!

    Cheers,

    Phil.

Maybe not hot, but it looks as if it will be sunny.

I was hoping that the stock for tomorrow's train would be that from the Torbay Express. Unfortunately there appears to
be a 5Z69 stock movement this evening from Eastleigh to Exeter Riverside. As it's a Pathfinder tour it could end up being
the rainbow set. The Bristolian on Saturday was made up of 6024 plus 11 chocolate and cream coaches. Very smart. <BJ>

After a 37 min late arrival at Bristol TM, 6024 quickly coupled up and departed about 10 down. After passing Lockleaze at a good rate of speed the train suddenly stopped at the site of the old Horfield station. Emergency brake application perhaps? Then as everyone at Lockleaze joined a scrabble to try to get to Horfield to see the King depart, the train began to pull away towards South Wales. Although on a steeply graded stretch of track, the King made easy work of accelerating away. A good start to the day for the photographers and passengers.
    Consist of stock towards S.Wales:
    1 choc & cream
    1 Blue and grey
    1 maroon
    3 choc & cream
    5 Maroon. <BJ>

Saw the King racing through Pilning Station just before the sun had set in the west. It might have been about 15 behind the scheduled time when I saw it. Have added a couple of shots to the ones from this morning.
