why not give the bulk of the paths to the visitors and just infil with resident engines, sometimes seems a waste of time having visitors, but u all do a good job nevertheless

There are new TSRs at the top end of GN straight (just north of Ingrow) due to relaid track, and through Mytholmes Tunnel to Bakers Curve - 20 MPH due to re-sleepering.

on a side note, I noticed while down on sunday, the council has desided it would be a good time to dig up the roads around Harworth, and we are not talking small scale, so traffic could be an issue road wise.

 

It was a learning curve.........and had never worked on Caprotti before...

 

any hints, tips and anecdotes on working with it ?

The engine is a fine bit of kit. Just make sure you have a fire in it and some ear muffs........no more to be said

Its disgusting, changing arrangements at this late hour. Just shows how reliable some people can be, never mind all the hard work put in, its me, me, me. Its things like this that are sending the steam movement 'down the pan'. There should be a signed contract for a loco to appear before all the hard work starts. Hmmmm, rant over.

Posted elsewhere that 44871 has been sent to Scotland as emergency cover... I doubt this scenario could have been forseen unfortunately

 

Maybe a long shot and I don't know about the gauging but 34070 Manston may be an idea and she will be returning from NYMR, unless she is staying on for the 1940's week that is?
