Anybody know what (if anything) is happening to the Hunslet built prairie tank that was repatriated some years ago and is now at the Middleton Railway? Their website is says nothing and is lacking any pictures.....

Plans are afoot but I don't think that the owner would like these to be made public at the present time in case this jeopardises things. Sorry that I can't give any more details.

It is sitting at Middleton , largely unrestored. Sadly I didn't take a picture of it when I was there

As a working loco, it would be ideal motive power for almost any standard gauge heritage line in the UK. Except that it is rather on the wide side....
The firebox is in excellent condition; the wheel tyres are almost new; the rest......? Probably no worse than some of the Barry hulks still around.

Height is not a problem. It is width. You can cut it down so much but the motion brackets become the deciding factor.

Thats ok. As long at it hasn't been abandoned. I thought it was a very good looking loco when I saw it in a magazine some years ago. IIRC the owner said it would be relatively easy to cut it down to UK loading gauge as most of what was out of gauge was rotten!

I think you're right. A mate of mine has a girlfriend who comes from Trinidad and he took some pics of this loco and others on one of his visits.
