I see that my attempt of light relief was utterly wasted.

This would have been a better way for her to have got to Easteigh!

Except that the signalman at Worting Junction would have needed to have set the wrong road as in this, my only photo of 30925,(fairly sure it is her), she is heading a down West of England train between Pirbight Junction and Milepost 31 in 1962.

Oh, and to stop any sibling rivalry I had better include a photo of 30926 as well!

30926 heads an up West of England Express at the same location between Milepost 31 and Pirbight Junction in 1962.

Or perhaps my response, which was equally as light, was utterly wasted too....

Your telling me! There are so many people on this forum that I would love to just punch in the face for being so uptight and generally bitchy :D

by rail would have been a better way
the only trouble them would have been , How do we include 34051 in the train and hope that no one notices that they are an engine less at york, just dont tell 35029 other wise she would be trying to limp over to join the train also

I make no apologies for the quality of this picture, I was 5 years and 3 months old... and I'd had the camera for 3 months of that...

But heres one of my very first ever pictures.. of 925

    925.JPG

and the monster taking this picture..

    Me.JPG
I have to say Ive improved since then and in photography too :)
I'm thinking the motorail picture is Carlilse (as I have a picture infront of 5690 in which looks only to be the south end departure signals at Carlilse), but if anyone can confirm..?

And, just to completely stop the sibling rivalry, did you ever get 928?

Having spent the past 30 minutes underneath her coupling the tender to the loco I can confirm that Cheltenham has landed back on Southern Rails, and very nice she looks too. She will be tripped into the Works tomorrow late morning or middayish. The route in takes her through Eastleigh station which must be a first for a Schools for quite a few years. I have a feelling that Stowe may have attended an open day in the 1980s but I'm not sure.
