Metcheck and BBC both showing some sunshine for Bristol. Metcheck shows light rain for Thursday night.

There are 34 restrictions, mainly bridges. This could be due to the weight of the engine plus an extra tender. Just to make
the day more interesting there is an unwelcome addition to the formation. It is booked to hang onto the last coach of the train. <BJ>

Went through Portchester going well about 11:35 and checking on TOPS was about 15 down on arrival at Bath.

Yes. I can confirm that. I understand that the train was stuck behind a unit at one point and then had to let an HST clear in the Bath area. 60019 was going very well at Saltford considering that it was hauling 13 coaches and a class 37 diesel. 60019 appeared to be doing all of the work. <BJ>

Superb. A sunny Autumn day is the best time of the year, in my opinion for steam photography,

Very nice shot. Was this at Mayford next to the bridge? By the time it got to us at Bedhampton it was too warm for any smoke.

60019 a few minutes late departing from Bristol due to a late running HST. Through a rather moist Keynsham at 17:51. The diesel, thankfully, still just idling. <BJ>

Plans to take pictures at Bath had to be scrapped due to traffic congestion. The Metcheck forecast was all too accurate, some light rain began to fall just as the engine started off from Temple Meads.

Anybody know the reason for the diesel on the back of the train. Has there been any on train announcement about it?

Looks to be booked to go into Platform 19 at Waterloo, isn't it obligatory with the signal arrangements for the diesel to be attached prior to arrival?
