class 37 D6700 arrives at Carnforth

    popped over to Carnforth today, just in time to see a BR green class 37 arrive from the Barrow branch, anyone know from whence it came?, it was towed by 47580.

    I'm not sure where it originated from but I saw the same passing through Skipton earlier this afternoon - around 15:00.

    it's ours (ie. NRM's), has come over from York after bodywork repairs to be painted at Carnforth

    Ah yes, just checked my video, typical of me, Thanks coboman.

    and thanks Anthony, should have asked the lads at the time , but the natter was all about Leander's troubles on the slippery windy S&C at the time.

    37350 (D6700) has come for repainting into BR Green at Carnforth...

    Ready for 37 Gala at the NRM in October!!

    well, its this weekend, 16/17th October, is it still at Carnforth, if it is it should be on its way soon, any news?, nowt on NRM so far.

    I know this may be a daft question, but wouldn't it have been easier to take the painters to the loco rather than the loco to the painters? (Or does Carnforth have some sort of hi-tech paint shop?)

    Carnforth's paint shop was available and NRM's has a coach in at the moment. The work at WCRC is first class by the way.

    thanks Anthony, love the sound 37's make, might just make it, bit skint at the moment but if there's a bus and I can pitch a tent somewhere, its possible, the saturday morning start up sounds great.

    D6700, 37025, 37865 seen assembled at Carnforth, rumoured to be leaving for york before dawn.
