Had a nice morning at Weybourne for members day. Outshopped was GER Wisbech and Upwell coach plus M&GN brake van no.12 (also in E&MR on one side).
Next is MR coach (in the works) then the GER brake (in store atm).

In the works was the class 47 waiting for axle change and the class 37 nearing completion. Also the 03 shunter, the Y7 still in bits but looking near and the steam crane having work done.

The boiler is being fixed so the crane can become operational again.

It's a bit misleading to describe the steam crane as being cut up. What is happening is that the runner (a former carriage u/f) is having its jib support fittings etc. transferred to a replacement u/f, whilst this one is going to (Ithink) the Autocar trust for use under the ex-NER autocar.

The B17 tender, in a rather less attractive physical state, currently lives at the end of Weybourne Headshunt. In Dace83's first picture, it can be seen between the TRAMM and the Class 08 Shunter.

Tim, they sell Carriage keys in Sheringham Station if you ask. Look foward to working with you sometime.

    Nice photos, Dace83.

The 'vintage train' looks particularly impressive, and is a real credit to the C&W volunteers at the NNR.

Wistful question - is there ever a chance of the GER Wisbech and Upwell coach going 'out on tour' to other preserved railways, in the forseeable future? Or is it permanently based at the NNR? The thought of it combined with a 14xx and a Toad is just too tempting for words...

    Cheers,

    Phil.
