A video on youtube suggested that there had been a failed train in front of Tornado, presumably preventing a waterstop at Holme for some reason. Can anyone confirm?

Here's my clip from today at Copmanthorpe Woods running approx. 2 hours late... Was frozen to the core. We did plan on seeing it leave York this evening but wouldn't really have had time.

Good job we didn't delay our journey back anyway the roads up north were quite bad tonight. The A19 was closed so we had to come off only to be going through towns and villages that had roads with sheets of ice... I've never seen so many crashed cars in one night! We left Leeds at about 5.30 and finally made it to Seaham at about 8.30, a trip that normally takes just over an hour. At Seaham we just decided to abandon our cars and went to a friend’s house. We set back off about 10 and finally made it back to Sunderland... And it's still snowing! A very stressful night indeed.

    Update on yesterdays run.
Got back in 40mins late, Tornado behaved well on the return run with no issues, however all the delays were down to chronic regulation by NR, and I understand that because of this a formal complaint is being made to them.

Nothing new there then. It's amazing how inconsistent NR can be. One day good - e.g. with the Tin Bath Extra it would seem - and the next day they don't seem to have a clue. It's sad to think that this is our national rail network.

Reading a thread on wnxx it sounds like there were all number of problems affecting the ECML that day so perhaps its not so surprising that pathing the A1 wasnt given the attention it perhaps deserved.
