I’ve been on the Bluebell Railway web site over the weekend to find out dates for next years special events. But for some reason the Bluebell web site only goes up to December 2010. Does anyone have a list of events and dates for next year.

    Thanks

I think usually each event is around the same time each year so I'm guessing (going by this years) main events will be.

Branch Line Weekend 19/20th February 2011

Southern at War 7/8th May 2011

Family Fun Weekends 18/19th June and 25/26th June 2011

Giants (or possibly now Autumn Gala) 23/24/25 October 2011

    Wizard Weekend 29/20 October 2011

I can't help with any dates for next year, but if the events that they run are anything like the gala weekend last August, they will be well worth attending.

I have been somewhat pre-occupied with moving house and other matter over the past few weeks so have had no time for railways, photography or even the NatPres website. However, life is slowly returning to normal and I have finally managed to get the rest of my pictures from last August's trip to the Bluebell onto my Fotopic site.

They are hardly hot news, but if anyone is interested to see them, they are here :

    http://ronfisher2.fotopic.net/c1907221.html

To start you off, here's the first one :

Clicking on the picture will enlarge it and take you to the others.

At the moment they are in the 'Stop Press!' collection for new pictures; in due course, however, I shall move them on to join the other pictures in the Bluebell Railway collection and you will then find them here :

    http://ronfisher2.fotopic.net/c1882724.html

Hope that they are of interest.

That is not true! As it says on that page a decision has yet to be made about the Sunday service, and as it says on the enthusiast website this is dependent on volunteers making it to the line on Saturday to get stations and trains ready.

    Please amend your post accordingly.

    Regards,

    Dan

The Mid-Hants is in the same position Dan with the Friday dining train canceled and Saturday services under review.

You are correct about the Bluebells Sunday service should be running.

The correct decision by the Bluebell, the side roads are a nightmare here in East Grinstead let alone out in the sticks. In EG we have had 17" of snow in two days but at least the A22 is looking better now

No problem. I think temperatures are due to rise on Saturday, so there is hope for all lines!

Nothing new here, just much of the same. I wonder what the attendance figures for these events are and how they vary from year to year.

First I heard about this but thought it would be a good idea for a gala. 2 P classes (maybe 3 if Tenterden give up 753), 1 H class (if 263 is ready), 1 C class and an O1 on display. All thats missing really is the D class at York. Might have to go to this.

I guess this is the replacement gala for Giants of Steam this year. Would be great if we could get the D from the NRM and put on display at HK. Makes me wonder if we'll get any visiting locos running on our galas this year as Branch Line w/e at the moment is promoting a line-up of six home based locos and the only locos that would be appropriate for a South Eastern Gala would be the D (obviously non-steamable) or the P 753 (which we already had a couple of year's ago).

Maybe they could get 753 back again but isn't its boiler ticket about to expire so it might not make it.

That said you can see Orions point though as Rowan Millard has red carded more coaches than he has out shopped.

    Happy new year.
