I remember in the last ticket that the SVR tried to avoid using 2857 in the winter due to the exposed conditions. I remember when 2857 visited the GWR which was my first footplate ride and the difference in heat tender first and that was in the summer! You have my sympathy!!!

Is City of Truro actually going to be running on the 29th/30th? I see it still says on the GWSR website that it will be, but if it is running at the GCR N on the 28th surely it wont be back in time?

    Sam,

The cracker will have 4 locos in steam. I don't think it is known when 3717 will return to the GWSR, but I expect the website is slightly old unfortunately, and therefore expect to see 7903, 5542, 2807 and 45160 running.

    Regards

    Stephen

How come No:92203 'Black Prince' won't be running then? She (Or should I call it 'it' or 'he?) was built at Swindon too! (In 1959)

Assuming 7903 facing Toddington, and both 45160 and 2807 facing Cheltenham still.

So only 2 locos worth photting then Craig as there will be a diesel at the north end of the train.

Not sure which way 5542 faces though - which may make it 3 facing C'ham...

I've not seen 5542 since she came back. Earlier visits always had her facing south so I've lots of pics of her with the auto coach - maybe John Wood is reading and will tell us!

Who says there'll be a diesel on the north end? Surely it's steam t and t?

They top and tail all trains as they cannot run round at Gotherington or Laverton

I went to one of these events a few years ago, and the additional steam engine was added at Winchcombe and the train was therefore only top and tailed Winchcombe to Gotherington and return. For this event will the trains be top and tailed all the way Toddington-Gotherington and is it true there will be a diesel used?

    Regards

5542 faces Cheltenham also, not visited since it arrived but going by the pics posted last week on GWSR site.
